Question: hi tom, how bad are the chemicals plants that you help build for the environment and if it is bad what are you doing to ammend this.

That’s a difficult question as nearly everyone on this planet has a negative impact on the environment, but it is all about balance and reducing this impact. Reducing the amount of plastic we use, reducing how much energy we waste, and finding other ways to live more sustainably.

Some of the companies who run the chemical plants involve us because they want to make improvements to their existing plants – these improvements often involve making them run more efficiently. This can mean that they do not use as much energy, or as much water, or as many chemicals. And on some plants, they want to consider installing sustainable solutions such as solar panels or wind farms. So we help the companies who run these plants to reduce their impact on the environment.

If any companies who come to us with a request which would have a really negative impact on the environment, we would not get involved. However, if they came to us and said we want to solve this problem, we definitely would.

When I say I work at chemical plants, lots of things are classed as chemical plant. Cadburys the chocolate manufacturer, have chemical plants. Companies who make perfumes and aftershaves and soaps and shower gels have chemical plants. They all have an effect on the environment – it’s just about reducing it.
